I've tried it just now and discovered that it's impossible to line up for jumping through a one block gap after entering the metroid filled corridors too early.

smol samus have big brain heheehe

wud benefit from the controls written in the map at starting location. shift/etc rather than c for firing wud make it easier 1 handed. web player..buggy yes. collsion with the bat things needs fix, they seem to have a crossshape hibox, jumping up beside them away from their animation still kills u. other than that, very cool, esp the graphics.

Tried out the windows download version... is there controller support? because it seemed to crash on me at the title screen after I pressed a couple of buttons trying to start it. Also: There was another "Minitroid" a while back ("tech demo" from like 2011, at least that's what the file dates say) is this by chance a more complete version of that one?

Nope, sorry, no controller support!

I’ve seen this other project, it’s just the same name, not related to this project 🙂

Ah okay! Thanks for the timely replay! Guess I'll give it a try later when I can do it with easier access to my keyboard. But it looks great, are you submitting this to the metroidvania jam as well? Seems like it'd fit in perfectly.

mmmm I was thinking I would probably try to work on something a bit longer for the metroidvania, given it’s a whole month! But right now I’m playing with a few different frameworks, tinkering with the idea of building my own layer above a framework, etc :)

Very well done! Short, sweet and a nice usage of limited pixel space.

Awesome short metroid.
